ABOUT US

Re-Think the Middle East (RTME), a non-profit registered in Washington DC, is recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. RTME accepts tax-deductible contributions from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

Re-Think the Middle East is unique in its combined approach and scope. It looks at the entire set of inter-related tensions between Israelis and Palestinians, Israel and Arab states, Jews and Muslims. RTME encourages dialogue and debate. It seeks to provide a place for advocates to make their case in proposing new ideas and new courses of action while giving critics of these proposals the chance to ask tough questions and state objections. RTME’s bias is towards practical action, viable alternatives, process innovation, and the long view.

Its approach is truly non-partisan. This is not a Jewish, Zionist, or pro-Israel organization, nor is it a pro-Palestinian, Arab, or Muslim group, though it will include partisans from many sides. It neither proposes nor opposes a two-state solution, yet it will provide opportunities to examine the pros and cons of that idea as well as others. Similarly, it will promote open dialogue regarding alternative futures between Israel and Syria, Israel and Lebanon, Israel and Iran, etc.

We hope to attract the best ideas from across political, religious, and national spectrums and to attract a similarly diverse audience open to hearing and examining new ideas.
